Ryan uses Educational Data Mining/Learning Analytics to understand how students interact with and learn from digital learning platforms. He develops automated detectors that assess constructs such as student engagement and behavior in real time. Ryan is also an Adjunct Professor at University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education and directs the Penn Center for Learning Analytics.
